Dreamers Achievers And Winners

Thts wat we all want to be in life, dont we? Dreams form the corner stones of our lives, but more often than not, we are scared to pursue our dreams..Why? Coz we might fail..Thts wat experience says, doesnt it? "Dreamers have failed miserably and the ones who have succeeded have been very lucky" The voices ring true and clear!!..Didnt I dream of being a stage artist? Or a Radio jockey? Or even an Engine driver? Why am I wat I am today? Convention, society or my own risk averseness? Didnt I try to do a skit for teacher's day in school when I was a small kid, chasing a crazy dream? Wasnt I booed off the stage? Then why am I talking about dreams here? When I look back, i definitely do remember those boos and the the shrill voices shouting at me to get off the stage..But I also remember the fun that I had while preparing the skit..The truly memorable moments we spent together working on the dialogues.The midnight cups of steaming coffee.. The exhilaration of getting the dialogues right after infinite takes and retakes....It was stuff dreams r made of..Thts it!! We might fail to achieve our dreams and we remember the pain...Wat we forget is the fun we had while trying!!!
I watched this movie by a young unknown director, another dream chaser..Crazy is the word!!! It was titled, Dreamer Achievers and Winners!! The movie is also about dreams...And I wonder wat made him choose a topic like this..Or even think abt making a movie while doing his masters..Who wud watch it? How wud he arrange the money for the premier? Didnt he evaluate these options before he did something so foolish? MBA has taught me to trade off costs and benefits..Here in this director's case, the costs far overweighed the benefits..Then why? Somehow I caught hold of his mail id and mailed him..What he said almost made me look so small and stupid. "I made it because I wanted to..I had a dream and I chased it..Didnt think of the future, because then the fun of dreaming and the excitement of the uncertain would have been lost!! Even if I fail to achieve my dream, I want to ensure that I have fun trying", he said. Very Martin Luther King like, of the "I have a dream" fame. But coming from an ordinary person like you and me..I wish a lot of people watch his movie appreciate it..Coz dreamers like him arent around every corner!!
