An Ode to the Invincibles

A class is what its students are. And the students of this class were definitely a class apart! Put in a T.T champion cum crooner, a home grown cricket team and a ready made cheering squad, our very own Kotler, a pint size power-house and a bunch of boisterous yet humble students, and you have section I of IBS. We came together as strangers and even competitors and slowly we transformed into a team. Together we braved many odds, from smiling assassins teaching economics to “wroting” down marketing concepts; from assurances of the simplicity of finance (Ismein kya hain? Kucch bhi nahin!) to fighting the demons of summer placements, we sure have come a long way. And no one can deny that the journey has been a special one.
They say that every entity has a personality. What was plainly known as section I, soon transformed itself into the “Invincibles” and every student became an Invincible Icon in his own right. The party at Sixth Element, the bike rides to the new campus, the visits to Ocean Park and Golconda Fort, and the all guys late night parties and numerous other “memorable” moments may soon become a blur when we start out on our corporate lives. The only thing that would be left behind would be our camaraderie. And one evening, ten years hence, when we remove the cobwebs of time and look down memory lane, we would perhaps hum these lines in our mind

“Oh! When I look back now,
The Summer seems to last forever
And if I had a choice
Yea, I would wanna be there.
Those were the best days of my life.”
